The Department of Zoology was started in 2018 with one non-sanctioned faculty member. Since then, the department is offering B.Sc. Degree of Major and General course under the affiliation of Gauhati University. Later, three sanctioned posts have been created by the college and it was filled up in the year 2020. The department has well equipped laboratories and digital classroom to conduct smooth classes and practical as per the syllabus. Besides, the department has one museum and library facility. The department conducts regular student seminar, group discussion, peer teaching excursion and mentoring of students after identifying slow/advance learners. The department has so far organized many workshops and other extension activities outside the college. Besides, the department has also done many activities in collaboration with Zoology department of other colleges as per the objectives of MoU signed in between two departments. The departments' motto is to provide proper educational facilities and all-round development to the students. Therefore, the department is also providing coaching classes to the students for the higher educational entrance examinations.
