HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Philosophy was established in 1994 with Mrs. Bibha Rani Bhattacharyya as the founder lecturer. Mrs. Dolima Sarma joined the department as an assistant professor in 1998. The Department of Philosophy focuses on the overall development of the students. The faculty members are sincere and hardworking, and they dedicatedly work towards imparting knowledge and guiding them to become better individuals. The teacher-student relationship is very cordial, and teachers take the utmost care regarding the backward students by conducting regular remedial classes.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
The Department of Philosophy offers courses to Higher Secondary and Undergraduate students and generates an understanding of the core areas of philosophy. It guides students to enhance their knowledge through effective learning. Our aim is to develop a sense of critical and analytical thinking in the minds of students. Our aim is not restricted to the field of academics alone. To develop our students holistically, we ensure to instill ethical and moral values through thought-provoking discussions and ethical dilemmas. Our focus is to mold students into exemplary human beings capable of making a positive impact on society.

Our objective is to assist our students in becoming the best versions of themselves. We don't just focus on academics in our department. We promote a friendly and supportive environment where students can explore their interests and understand different perspectives. The faculty members are sincere and hardworking, and they dedicatedly work towards imparting knowledge and guiding them to become better individuals. We aim to prepare our students not just for exams but for life by making a positive impact on their lives.
