S.B. Deorah College, established in 1984 under the pioneering leadership of some visionaries of Ulubari area of Guwahati is a prominent seat of higher learning in the North East. Here, we strive to impart quality education to the learners who come from various parts of the region. We also try to imbibe the core values of life to the students so that they become good human beings and good citizens. Affiliated to Gauhati University, we have been providing conventional Arts, Science and Commerce education in all these years. One of our priority areas is development of skills among the students and we have been offering some vocational and job-oriented Certificate and Add-on courses.

Centrally located in the city of Guwahati, we have very good infrastructure in the campus. We have a digital smart classroom cum conference room with video conferencing facility. Our science laboratories are also state-of-the-art. We have replaced the traditional white/green boards with Digital Interactive panels to make the classroom environment more interesting and interactive. Our library is fully computerized with SOUL Web-OPAC facility and our Digital library is well equipped. We have subscribed Internet Leased Line (ILL) to provide unlimited wi-fi internet connectivity to the students as well as faculty. We also have a well-equipped and fully furnished Girls Hostel in the campus. We have installed a 25 Kw solar power plant in the campus and thus turned ourselves from consumer to a producer and supplier of Green energy.

Maintenance of discipline, punctuality and regularity is top priority of this institution. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the College takes care of improving quality and suggests measures for overall development of the College. Apart from NAAC which re-accreditated our College in Nov. 2015 with "B" Grade (CGPA of 2.46), our College is also listed under NIRF since 2019-20. We have established an Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) as per Guidelines of AICTE and organizing various programmes on entrepreneurship, start-up, innovation etc. We are trying to our level best so that the students have the feeling that they are getting the best of facilities and qualities required in a Higher Educational Institute these days. During the COVID 19 pandemic, we introduced online classes and we are continuing with it in a blended mode with classroom teaching. We have also uploaded many study materials and Class videos and audios in our online portal for the benefit of the students. We have also forged several collaborations and MoUs with Institutions and jointly undertaking various activities/initiatives. We can assure that after passing out, our students will fondly remember the College and call themselves a proud alumnus of this institution.
