Gauhati University, Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) formerly known as IDOL was established in May, 1998 plays a significant role in the realm of distance education in North-East India. Established with the aim of reaching out to learners who might face various constraints, Gauhati University (CDOE) offers a variety of under-graduate, post graduate programmes. The admission process usually starts during the month of July and August every year.
Gauhati University, Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), S.B. Deorah College study centre was established in 2019 with the objective to ensure the opportunity to pursue quality higher education to the large number of students who could not pursue higher education through conventional mode of education. CDOE, Gauhati University strives to accommodate the students who cannot enroll in the conventional system of higher education due to various factors like limited number of seats in post graduate classes livelihood compulsion etc. and aims to impart quality education in an intellectually challenging learning environment. S.B. Deorah College study centre starting with 41 nos. of students has completed five consecutive year with good academic environment and result. The centre at present offers M.A. /M.Com courses under G.U. CDOE. Details about the programmes offered in the study centre of S.B. Deorah College are mention below. Besides, G.U.
